High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

My family members took us here for lunch one day while visiting Twin Falls. I wasn't sure what to expect. The Good Wow, what a great price for a pizza lunch. Pizza, salad, pasta, and drink for like $6. I loved they actually come around with fresh pizza to see if you would like a slice. I don't know what the name of it was, but there was a Ranch-cheese-chicken pizza that was delicious. The dessert pizzas were interesting with some very creative choices. Oreo, Butterfinger, S'mores, English Toffee--they were all good. It was very busy during the time we were there, which means fresh pizzas were flying out of the oven. Staff seemed pretty friendly. The Bad I can't think of much that was bad. I like the thin crust pizza myself, but not everyone likes that style. It was a bit noisy but it was very busy. When visiting again, I'm sure we'll be back.

The concept is great. I particularly like the pizza being brought around vs. jockeying at a bar. That being said - your favorite pizza comes out - your mouth is watering - and for some reason the server randomly skips your table and goes to the table of 12 sitting behind you. The Hot Mama was great, as were the Combo and the dessert pizzas. But the Idaho skipped us twice in seeming random fashion. I understand start at Point A move to Point B. But skipping a table in a direct line?

What a wonderful small town restaurant! We found this on a cross-country road trip and were nothing but pleased with the discovery. For one low price you get all-you-can-eat salad, pasta, bread, and pizza. The pizzas are fresh and crispy, and the servers bring them to you faster than you can eat them. There are great original and standard pizzas, and they will make whatever you request. And just when you think you've had enough, they bring the most delicious dessert pizzas. Family and grown-up friendly, non-smoking. Highly recommended!!

We stumbled on Gertie's when we were looking for a place for lunch in Twin Falls. We were pleasantly surprised. The all you can eat pizza isn't your run of the mill pizza-- there was a wide variety of gourmet pizza toppings like chicken cashew and barbecue Hawaiian. The dessert pizzas were the high point. I'm still thinking about how awesome the Butterfinger pizza was. The S'more pizza was terrific as well. The garlic bread wasn't all that good, and the salad bar was fairly run of the mill, but the pizza was awesome and the price couldn't be beat!

Terrible service. No place to sit staff not concerned and paid no attention to customers.

  • Patty K.

Let me start by telling you that this is NOT the place to go if you want GOOD pizza. But... If you want to go somewhere where you can stuff yourself for next to no $, have a pitcher of beer and let the kids run wild, go to Gerties. The food is fine. They bring out every kind of pizza imaginable, including some pretty good dessert pizzas, and the salad/pasta bar is pretty good too.

Good for the price.... She came around every 3 min. With another pie so we couldn't enjoy the one we already had.

If you have a large group... yes, take them there. Went with a few soccer teams and had a good time. Very similar to all the "buffet" pizzas. Salad bar was normal... pizza was OK... but a good time for all the kids. HUGE basement area for large groups. Pretty cool the way they come around and ask if you'd like to try different pizzas.

    (3)
  • C R.

The best thing I can say is that the price for the lunch buffet is okay if you are trying to feed a bunch of kids. Reality though, the food is blah. They don't make nearly enough in a reasonable amount of time to serve a lunch crowd. And not a true wood fired pizza. This is about what I would expect if I popped an average frozen pizza in the oven and let the edges brown. If you are looking to satisfy your lunch craving, be prepared to fill up on the salad bar otherwise you will leave hungry.

Kept on coming out with the same pizzas. Would like to have some more options. Asked for a different pizzas and the waitress she got an attitude. Finally came out with the kinds we asked for as we left. Would not recommend this place.

The pizza was alright the atmosphere is family. I don't believe anything I ate was from a brick oven. I like the variety of pizza that they bring to the table. The salad bar was good and I ate more of that. The only bad thing was the tables were not cleared quickly and it was gross to eat while the tables around you were dirty. I got home and felt awful.

  • Judy F.

We had lunch there today, the salad bar was fresh, the beer cold and was a good value for the money. A real drawback was two little girls who were too small to be at the salad bar, actually climbed on the salad bar and helped themselves with bare hands. They even drug chairs to the salad bar to get up higher. We could see their long hair dragging in the food. Their mother was even there with them at one point but did nothing to stop them.We called it to two different servers attention but nothing was done to stop it. I doubt if we will be back.

I have been to Gertie's a few times. The pizza is always great. I like their Hash Brown & Bacon pizza. They also have a Chicken Fettuccine pizza. Their Desert Pizza were pretty good too.

  • Dee P.

Service was good, nice people working there. The atmosphere is great, very cool looking building. The pizza is just ok, for a buffet it wasn't bad. The pizza crust is like a giant cracker. The dessert pizzas are gross. On the plus side there was a variety of toppings on the pizzas, some very creative and unusual. I wish they would've had more vegetarian choices. Overall Gertie's is a nice place to have lunch.

  • C B.

What a shock! Gourmet pizza in Twin Falls. We had the all you could eat lunch. What some of the varieties they brought by didn't appeal to me (BBQ anything, for example), what I did have was very good. The crust was perfect. The dessert pizzas, especially the Butterfinger and Smores were outstanding. We don't live in the area, but will stop again next time we pass through.

    (4)
  • Madeline L.

Great all you can eat family atmosphere. I've been there multiple times and the pizza is always good. There's a ton of variety; flavors everyone will enjoy, and a few unique ones for the more adventurous. They serve dessert pizzas as well. It's great for large groups and events like birthdays.

    (4)
  • Anne H.

Fun atmosphere if you have kids. The pizza crust is lame (basically just a cracker) but they have a nice variety of toppings. Dessert pizzas are pretty good but their regular pizzas don't really satisfy if you're hankering for an actual pizza. If you want an actual pizza you're basically out of luck in Twin.

    (3)
  • Christine V.

On every table you will find the same thing. A pile of crusts. Why? because the crust is disgusting. Has no flavor or seasoning and most the time it comes out burnt. The toppings are so so but nothing "wow" about it.

  • Paul M.

Um...ok. Gerties. The concept is this: pay your money, sit down and have any pizza brought to you. By "any" I mean ANY kind of pizza: Taco pizza with ground beef, lettuce, etc., Idaho Pizza with-you guessed it- POTATOES!- on board. Ranch chicken pizza, and of course traditional pizza like pepperoni and cheese. My kids LOVE it. Me? It's ok if you like average pizza. I think I tolerate Gerties most because the kids can go into the arcarde (yes, "acrade" as in old-school 1980's old video games "arcade" they have pacman and I still can't get past the damn pretzel level) and have at it. Gerties has cars where a kid can pay a quarter and get a little up and down ride. Same for a plane or two. This place is HUGELY popular for little league teams to have their end of the year parties. Don't go if you want mouth-watering pizza. And DEFINITELY don't go for a quiet meal.

I am writing this review because I feel like Gertie's has been slighted as far as the amount of stars it has gotten. Here's the truth: This is one of my favorite pizza places. Ever. Especially for the 7 bucks you pay. It kind of reminds me of PIzza Planet from Toy Story and this is as close as it gets without going to Disney World, people. It has a game room/arcade and is good for all ages. It's not that the dinner pizza is the best quality you have ever had in your life, but it is really good, especially the Idahoan (it has hashbrowns on it!) The dessert pizza, however, is top notch. It is a fun place to go with a big group of people. We go out of our way to stop here whenever we pass through Twin Falls or anywhere nearby. I wish Salt Lake City had a fun pizza place like this with a lot of energy and a fun environment for a group of friends or family.

This is a fun pizza place. If you like variety this is the place for you. They have a full salad bar AND a pizza bar with about 4 or 5 different pizzas. They also have servers that walk around the restaurant offering pizza from their trays. The have a bunch of different kinds of creative pizzas. Our favorite was the chicken almond ranch. They use ranch dressing instead of marinara sauce. It was really good. They also have desert pizzas which were TOO GOOD. I was already stuffed. Everybody was very friendly. We will try to come back on our next trip through.

Pizza is OK the past reviews have been pretty correct. Sit close to the kitchen doors if possible put your request for what you want early and don't load up on salad. This place was called The Hangar back in the day and the saying for there applies here. "It isn't about the quality as it is so much about the quantity!". You should only come here when you are really hungry. Service is Ok the people serving pizza aren't too bad and are pretty decent when you dom't treat them like your personal servants as people at the other tables around were treating them like. We usually have a good time hear and it is a great place for business, family, and or religous parties.

Meh. The pizza was ok, the salad was fresh and decent, and the pastas were ok. I am not a fan of buffets, at all. Note: its a pizza buffet, there is no take out ordering or leftovers:(

If you dont like ranch, then you are wasting your time even walking in the door of this place. Chicken and ranch??? Bar B Q and ranch, Cashews and ranch??? Bacon and ranch??? Pepperoni and ranch??? RANCH AND RANCH????!! WTF???!!! How about sausage and pepperoni for Pete's sake!!! NO WAY these guys shouuld have more stars than Idaho Pizza Co. or Pizza Hut or Little Ceasars, Pappa Murphy's or any other pizza joint in Twin Falls. This place has the worst crust and lowest quality level ingredients of any of them. I gave these guys plenty of chances to prove that they arent as bad as I make them out to be and went back a few times. But they dropped the ball everytime. Poor service, rude waitstaff, no place to sit because a dozen dirty tables need bussing, etc. I'm only giving these guys two stars instead of just one because the original owners came back and lifted this place out of the gutter and at least brought it back to basement level. But your money is much better spent at any of the other pizza restaurants in town. Hell, just send someone to Little Ceasars for a pizza run - you'll be better off.

  • Mark S.

Pizza is good, not great. Service is terrible. Make sure you sit next to the kitchen or you won't get any good pizza. Update 5/28/2011: Ok so I've been back a couple of times since my original review. They have added a hot bar which they stock with pizza. It's a welcome addition. Also, their "Ranch Idaho" and "Buffalo Chicken" pizzas are excellent. I've given them an additional star. Still, make sure you don't sit in the southwest corner or you will not get the good pizzas.

Salad bar was normal... pizza was OK... but a good time for all the kids. HUGE basement area for large groups. Pretty cool the way they come around and ask if you'd like to try different pizzas.

On every table you will find the same thing. A pile of crusts. Why? because the crust is disgusting. Has no flavor or seasoning and most the time it comes out burnt. The toppings are so so but nothing "wow" about it.
